Thomas Flaten

Chief Operating Officer

Thomas brings to KC Consulting a broad range of experience across investment banking and the pharmaceutical industry. Thomas began his career in investment banking, serving the healthcare industry, before transitioning to an equity research role. For his work in equity research, he was named “Best on the Street” biotechnology analyst by the Wall Street Journal. Thomas continued his career once again in investment banking and venture capital before moving to the pharmaceutical industry. Within pharma, Thomas began in business development and licensing, prior to moving into marketing. He held numerous roles managing brands and franchises in oncology and neurology, serving most recently as a business unit head, leading a sales and marketing team commercializing epilepsy products. 

Throughout his career, Thomas has engaged in corporate financings (public offerings, including IPOs and secondary issues and private funding), mergers and acquisitions (buy-side and sell-side, both as a banker and from within pharma), in- and out-licensing transactions, all stages of the pharmaceutical product life-cycle, strategic planning and tactical pull-through
